In 1999 Flying Cow Productions founded the Texas Poetry Calendar. This small publishing organization continued to produce the annual Journal / Planner /Calendar until 2008 when Scott Wiggerman and David Meischem of Dos Gatos Press took over publication of the calendar. For the 20th Anniversary issue Kallisto Gaia Press is proud to continue the publication of this iconic journal. Cindy Huyser is the author of Burning Number Five: Power Plant Poems (Blue Horse Press, 2014), selected co-winner for the 2014 Blue Horse Press Poetry Chapbook Contest by Texas Poet Laureate Larry D. Thomas. She is an editor of Bearing the Mask: Southwestern Persona Poems (Dos Gatos Press, 2016), winner of the Will Rogers Medallion Award’s Special Award in Cowboy and Western Poetry, as well as several previous editions of the Texas Poetry Calendar. Her work has received a “Best of the Net” nomination and two Pushcart Prize nominations, and has appeared recently in Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, San Pedro River Review, Red River Review, Illya’s Honey, and The Enigmatist.
